2.1 No account

There is no sign-in. We don’t ask for or collect your name, email, phone number, or any profile information.

2.2 Stored on your device only

To make the app work, small pieces of information are saved in your own browser — never on our servers:

• Recently-viewed titles — kept in your browser’s local storage so the home screen can show them. The “Clear” button next to “Recently viewed” wipes this anytime.
• Your country choice — stored in a single functional cookie so results stay relevant on your next visit.

Clearing your browser data removes all of it.

2.3 Searches

When you search, your query is sent to our server only to fetch matching results from our data provider, then returned to you. We don’t keep a history of what you searched.

2.4 Approximate location

Streaming availability differs by country, so we detect your country from your network connection to show relevant results. This is country-level only, not precise location, and isn’t stored beyond the country cookie above — which you can change anytime with the switcher.

2.5 What we do not collect

• No camera, microphone, precise location, contacts, calendar, or any sensor.
• No payment information — the app is free and has no in-app purchases.
• No advertising identifiers (IDFA / GAID).
• No third-party analytics or marketing trackers, and no cross-app tracking.

• To run your searches and show where a title is available.
• To show availability that’s relevant to your country.
• To keep the app reliable and secure — standard server logs (e.g. request times, errors) help us debug issues. These logs include your IP address and are kept only briefly by our hosting provider.

We do not sell your data. The services below process data on our behalf so the app can function:

• Movie of the Night — provides the streaming availability data via the Streaming Availability API. Your search term and country are sent to fetch results, and poster and logo images load from their servers.
• Vercel — hosts the app and serves it to your browser. May log IP addresses, user-agent strings, and request times for security and reliability.
• The streaming services themselves — “Watch”, “Rent”, and “Buy” links open third-party services (Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV, and others). Once you follow a link, that service’s own privacy policy applies.

We use no other processors — no advertising networks, no analytics providers, no email marketing platforms.

• On-device data (recently viewed, country) — until you clear it.
• Searches — not stored at all.
• Server logs — kept only for a short rolling period by our hosting provider, then automatically deleted.

• Access — everything the app remembers is on your own device, visible to you.
• Delete — use the “Clear” button, or clear your browser data. There’s no account to delete.
• Withdraw — simply stop using the app; nothing is retained about you.

If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK-GDPR, or CCPA respectively. Email us to exercise any of them.

WatchLight is family-friendly and suitable for all ages. There is no account, no chat, no gambling, no purchases, and we collect no personal information from you. Links may lead to third-party services that set their own age requirements.

The app is served from our providers’ infrastructure, primarily in the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, the limited technical data described above is processed in the United States.

All traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS. Our data-provider key is held only on our server and never exposed to your browser. Because there are no user accounts, there are no passwords or profiles to be compromised.

We may update this policy when we add features or change how we handle data. The “Last updated” date above will reflect any change.
